Just been to a pre-event meeting for InsideAR conference organized by Munich based high tech company Metaio.
The meeting was organized for friends and families of employees, and I have a friend working at Metaio hence we went there. Having this kind of event is a very smart move from Metaio management.
If they just tell their engineers: "go work on Sunday to set up demos", it will likely lower the morale. If they tell: "let us have a family and friends event with free t-shirts, snacks and refreshments, while you are setting up last bits of demos", it sounds much better.
And it also helps to rehearse the demo scripts in front of very friendly, but not very technical audience :) Great job Metaio management!
