Playing SimCity IRL.

The place we've chosen for our holiday this time is a bit special: it is a big private town, built from scratch by Egyptian billionaire Sawiris to materialize his ideas about a perfect town. He essentially successfully played SimCity in real life for about last 20 years.

Most amazing part of it is that he won the game: he created a self-sustaining social, architectural and business structure. A lot of European and Egyptian people have chosen to make this town their home, and many guests are staying in it's 5, 4 and 3 starred hotels and villas for rent. Though tourism is important, it does not all evolve around it: there is some life besides e.g. education projects, some industry etc.

We stayed in Moevenpick El Gouna, and highly recommend it as a cozy, quiet place with great food, close to town center and Zeytoona beach.
