Trip report: Staffelsee
Jul. 6th, 2011 08:12 pmToday I took a day off at work. I have plenty, last year I had 5 days of my vacation expired. My wife asked me to drive her to a remote Bavarian village where there is a children's hospital she considered applying for internship at. She is a better driver than me actually but terrible navigator. So at the rush hour she may get lost driving through unfamiliar places even with GPS.
I had 4 hours to spare, so I took some pictures of surroundings.

What is the insect is sitting on?
It is sitting on my laptop.

I did some coding in clojure sitting on a tree stump in a forest overseeing a lake.
Lake is warmer than other Bavarian lakes we usually go to, much better for swimming.

Yet another bumblebee.

I am not quite sure why there is no pine forests in alps. There are only spruce forests, and it was a very good day for collecting and eating wild strawberries, raspberries, bilbery and blackberry.
At the end of a day the hospital appeared to be a catholic one, with only catholic patients and staff.
