Christian Holidays

izardI don’t pay a church tax. Recently I was told it is not collected from Orthodox believers but any way. This tax is a big thing here, I’ve heard a lot of stories about broken relationships with grandparents/relatives when someone stops paying it. Of course those who skip cannot use the church services at a discount: wedding, baptizing, communion etc.
However I still benefit from some of the religious things believers pay for. The biggest thing is holidays. There are plenty. This week there was a day of Holy Spirit (same day as when in Russia they celebrated The Day When Russia Became Independent from Ukraine, Kazakhstan etc.) A week before there was another Christian holiday. Next week there will be one too. So three weeks in a row in the best summer season I work just four days. Next holiday is called “A happy cadaver” by the way – go figure!
