That was a good Christmas trip, weather was perfect: +15-+18, almost no rain, a lot of sun.

One thing mentioned in all tour guides are special colored buses. They are said to be owned by drivers, but all buses I've hopped on were owned by some garage.

Boats are also painted in traditional colors. There are plenty of local boats in all harbors and even more foreign yachts in marinas.

A lot of ppl are fishing:

City streets look very Italian.

Churches and Christian symbols are everywhere. On Gozo island there is a Rio's style Christ statue on a hill:

As it was a Christmas time in many public places there were installation about baby Christ, Maltese people are very proud they have these "Cribs" everywhere:

Maltese language sounds like a mixture of Arab, Italian and a bit of English, a very curious combination. I've heard many familiar Arab words, and Latin script is used as you may see on a picture above.

St John's pro-Cathederal was a church with the best interior decoration I ever seen plus it has a lot of Caravaggio paintings on exhibition.

There are not many wild cats and they are all similar because of a small population, there are just three common set of colors:

And this is another:

As it was booked in advance, airfare and hotel were cheap. Ppl don't like traveling on Christmas. Food in supermarkets costs the same as in Munich. In posh and touristic restaurants prices are akin to Munich too, but in few local places far from normal tourist traffic we found it was 2.5x cheaper. It is funny though that those cheap and good places to eat had a label on them: "Tourists are [also] welcome!"
Few other pics are in Picasa album All pics have geo-tags.
