Homes in Hamilton
Jan. 8th, 2009 07:31 pmI've recently promised in comments to post some pictures of local homes.
I've my laptop broken in a rather unusual way, so it's a bit difficult to post now. Hope to get it repaired next week when New Zealand businesses will hopefully start recovering from holidays.
Here are some pictures of typical homes. Unless noted otherwise, they are not particularly posh or poor, just above average, the kind I would consider buying.
That's a typical "nice home from 60s"

Looks good from outside if taken care of, but usually rather dumpy inside.
The following one is an example of "state houses", provided to poor.

This one is inhabited by a family from east Africa, and was built in just about 2 months last winter.
Next one is a typical house built in 80s.

This one is typical Maori home in city center. It lacks a door made of stained glass, and except from that it is a very typical Maori home.

Most of houses that face a park have a fence, however small. This one does not.

/* FIXME AK: more to follow*/
That's the view from our home's window, the only one that is not just trees, trees, trees.

And finally, here is a new year eve in center of Napier. Napier is the only major New Zealand city that is in the area of dry climate, that resembles south coast of Crimea.
