This week I've been to Amberg, had some meetings there. It's a nice town, very old one with plenty of sights to see, but I only had exactly 10 minutes to see them all :(.
Gothic town hall, built in 14th century.

I probably misunderstand what "gothic" means, this building does not look Gothic at all for me.
There is a river going through old city. When it crosses its' medieval walls, it's going below them. This should have helped to survive under the siege.

In general, when looking around on the inner streets of such medieval German towns, its quite easy to imagine how the life was in 10th-14th centuries. I never had such feeling in any other country before.
