Trip report: Cheboksary

We've recently been to my brother's wedding in my home town of Cheboksary, Russia. I have not been in Russia for nearly last 3 years, but I was not able to spot major changes, except for some newly built property - mostly commercial and some residential. Also internet check-in to inter-city trains was quite convenient to use, don't have to care about tickets any more.
Going by train was a very nostalgic experience. Moscow-Nizhniy Novgorod was a very modern and soul-less train, but Cheboksary-Moscow is quite new but old style, very clean and well maintained.

I would not post any pictures from the wedding, but only the last one from the banquet after reception. There was a small scale fireworks before we went to sleep after a long 1st day.

2nd day we've spent on the left bank of Volga, close to Novocheboksarsk hydro power plant. There are some weirdly looking places there, like:
