Most reviews of our hotel I read on tripadvisor indicated "bad snorkelling". Let's see...

This unicornfish and a small shark swam just ~30 meters from our room door. (20 meters to the shore, then 10 meters towards the reef). But there was a small trick.. I actually chased these two buddies towards the coast from deeper waters :)
Some more sea life under cut.
That is where I actually met this shark.

This ray has three stings on it's tail, but nevertheless it was so afraid of me, that it took me couple of attempts to dive down and swim along it without too much disturbance.

On every failed attempt, I must be moving not slow enough so the ray quickly ran away.
This was where a diver shop soaked their intro-clients. It is just 30 meters away from a bar! And only 3 meters deep. Is that what one call "bad snorkelling site"?

These nurseries and lionfish hideouts are accessible to anyone - it is only 1.5 meters deep on a high tide.

Here I liked how tolerant is the flock to a stranger fish, welcoming it in its ranks under a reef.
