Win XP setup: HAL selection.
Sep. 13th, 2010 10:37 amJust a reminder for myself, I always tend to forget:
When installing Windows XP on some pre-production or other weird platform, it often helps to press F5 when installation starts. It lets you select HAL, something that can be done only in this moment and not later.
This happens on the first few seconds of installation, exactly when Windows tells you: Press F6 to select SCSI/RAID/AHCI drivers.
You see, Windows tells you can press F6, but in fact it also processes F5 :) This is a Windows way to UI.
