One more post about mantis.

Just got my passport back from US consulate. There is a new field in the visa this time: clearance date. MANTIS check for me took 16 days this time. I am glad they decided that I am unlikely to violate export control rules.

But it's still stupid to make so broad assumptions about sensitive technologies list in IT field. It is more focused in material science, biology, etc. E.g. the fact that I frequently deal with optimizing crypto routines does not make me an expert in crypto. I barely understand the maths e.g. behind most attacks.
