Hurricane hit Waikato valley

2 days ago a hurricane believed to be the worst in 30 years had hit New Zealand and especially our Waikato valley. Wind gusts up to 170km/h. Terrible. About 10% of households on the island had lost power supplies. Most ppl rely on it for heating and hot water, so it's definitely not a pleasant experience in the midst of winter.

Just before hurricane, I've made a photo of an orange tree in our neighbors (nice Maory family) garden.
. Besides taking this photo, other preparations included opening window heading west and preparing to gather in the center of our home as instructed.
