Eilat freediving, fish
May. 15th, 2015 03:46 pmThis time I failed to find any interesting creatures in the sea - no turtles, no stingrays. So I was mostly taking pictures of simply fish in coral reefs.

Actually not only very simple fish, there was a crocodile fish, roaming mooray eel, snake eel, and a lot of tropical fish - surgeons, groupers, clown fish pairs with their anemone, parrotfish, cleaner wraths and bigger wraths.
Some more pics under cut.
Some day I will find out what these varied fish are trying to find on a sand bank.

They are digging together, but what do they expect to find?
This time there was plenty of small jellyfish.

First white appeared, then rose. And no turtle to eat them all!
At the bottom, is it a soft back coral starting to grow?

Most of the closeups to the coral are actually pics of different parts of a Moses rock.
Like this one, with hordes of tiny fish.

Moses Rock is located just 30 meters away from a jetty -> profit!
A pair of clown fish and their anemone.

Unfortunately, macro mode failed to focus under water. So the best I could do was like this:

Of course, a box with a normal camera would have worked better than a simple underwater Olympus I am using, but when freediving I feel I need something small, simple and light. Many ppl used hero, but I think it works better for videos than for pictures.
Now I must be moving smoother than before, and big fish does not mind posing for a picture.

This one must be tasty, dont know a name.
All pics are in a picasa album
