Trip report: Lucerne, Switzerland

A demo I was preparing for a customer involved some location specifics. I thought it should work the same way in Germany and German Switzerland, but it was not entirely the case, so in the evening before the meeting I had to work on it a bit in a hotel room.

Technically, one of the challenges was that when in roaming, Deutschetelekom deliberately dropped my UDP SIP packets, so I had to configure a VPN :)
The hotel was great. They given me a good tool set (on a pic above), and rooms had a very good view from a balcony.

Another view.

I would also recommend this place for dining:

In a menu they recommend a Wiener Schnitzel that is so delicious that it is cooked by a waiter at your desk, not by a chef. Though I ordered morels, asparagus and bear's garlic - seasonal stuff.
Driving there was nice too.

Before every time I came to Switzerland it was by train or by plane, and when looking from a car window it looks completely different. I was very impressed by landscapes that combined wilderness, agricultural land and industrial buildings that visually mix surprisingly well.
