Trip report: Nuernberg

Every year I go to Nuremberg twice for Embedded World and SPS/Drives. I have been there many times for customer meetings. The Nuremberg train station is a major junction of the German rail network, and I changed trains there several times every year. So I visited Nuremberg 20-30 times already. However I have never been to its city center. Once I was waiting for my train for three hours, and did not leave the station because I thought that it will take me a long time to get to the center and then back.
What a nonsense! The train station is right at the city center! We went to Nuremberg this weekend with a Bayern ticket (saving ~50 euros in exchange for extra 40 minutes travel time).
The old town is not too big and is very lovely. There is a wasps' nest in the wall of one of the big churches.

Someone is trying to stop wasps from accessing their nest, but without much success.
There are many children's drawings in an exhibit in the town hall. I liked one with a Soviet flag :)

And all possible touristic stuff, much better than in any other major German city I've been to so far.
Very friendly people live there! Every time we stopped to look at the map, someone approached to us and suggested the right way - all in _russian_ !!! I cannot imagine this happening in Munich...
All pics are in a picasa album
