I am a happy Citibank customer. (No pun intended, Russian internet is full of Citibank's customers horror stories, but I can use it, the secret is just not to expect too much form the service)
I've borrowed some money from Citibank in Russian Roubles with 12% interest rate. (The official inflation here is ~12%, real one is closer to 18%).
Apparently, Citibank realized that my credit line is too good for me.
So, in last few weeks, I got a phone call, couple of e-mails, mails and even SMSes asking me if I would accept another credit line, worth about 30% more then I have now, under 17% interest rate to cover my old credit line. When I got a call to my mobile on Sunday from Citibank employee (and how they recruit and treat those phone-marketing staff is another sad story I cannot reveal in the blog), I just answered that I am not an idiot to refinance my 12% debt with 17% debt. I can't write a response to SMS citing this, unfortunately.
Other ways, Citibank is great and convenient bank and I'm happy to be it's customer.
