Less then 50% of MWC participants were squeezed to the main pavilions (below).

Many including MSFT, Oracle, etc rented some space in nearby neighborhoods.

It was fun to play Jeopardy against IBM's AI, though I quickly lost. I think the categories like "Countries with last letter E" are not fair, computer clearly has advantage over human.

I bought some Jamon in a special shop and a guy on checkout impressed me. When I brought two pieces to checkout (they did not have any price tag) the guy picked the right price after just a quick look at the meat color. So he knows all kinds of Jamon they sell (and there are plenty) by heart.

Some booths had quite creative decorations, but those were usually by invitation only.

Instead of sparrows there are flocks of green parrots flying everywhere in Barcelona. They shout loudly and build nests on date palms.

Every night organizers ran coloured fountains.

I did not have any time to do sightseeing, so the closest I could get to see the Cathederal was using 400mm objective on my camera.

There is some left-ish political movement, active on the streets. I've seen a lot of graffiti and there was a big gathering on the closing of MWC, but those ppl were shouting something in Spanish so they were hardly understood by MWC's participants.
