I just published an article about the work I have been doing during last several months. The article includes a tarball with a BSD licensed baremetal runtime, that can be ran along with a Linux OS. It is a useful platform for benchmarking to rule out OS interference, and can be used for workload consolidation and porting stuff from microcontrollers to x86.
