Advice on Bay Area logistics
Feb. 23rd, 2013 09:21 amMy wife and I will be landing at San Jose airport at 9AM on 8th of March. I will have a meeting with customer in downtown San Jose at 10AM. Julia will have to hang around until 3PM when she can check in to a hotel and my meeting will hopefully be over by then too.
Question to my colleagues from the Valley: is there some place in San Jose where one can have some rest - have a seat, buy a snack, perhaps leave a bag? A cafe or restaurant probably would not work because they normally do not encourage their patrons to stay for 5 hours. I suggested Julia that I can drop her off at our Santa Clara office but she did not want to stay there.
It was not our plan to go to the Valley, but my manager told me: "I see you are in Phoenix and taking a day off on Friday before flying to Oregon. You are planning to go to Grand Canyon with her wife, right? I have a better idea! One of your customers would like to have a meeting with you in their San Jose branch".
My answer was of course "Jawohl, mein Fuerer! Work is so much better than vacation." On the bright side: will show San Francisco to Julia.
