Lottery win
Jan. 19th, 2013 01:33 pmI just won a lottery - first time in my life. (That is partly because I never buy lottery tickets, unless it is some charity where I support the cause). The lottery ticket did not cost me any money, so I was in the draw.
I won $750 (~550 euros), but there is a catch: I cannot get the cash, but instead should pick something at Amazon or other big online retailer for this price. And it has to be some gadget or at least a home appliance.
I went to thinkgeek but they mostly sell cheaper things. The only interesting thing there was EEG reader for $90.
I looked at 3d printers but they all are far more expensive. Robotics kits are either dull and cheap or far more expensive. I don't want a flying things... And of course I have enough computing things around so don't need anything. Lenses for my camera: I have all kinds that are cheaper than 500 euro, and few missing are well beyond the budget.
I even tried looking at books in ~500 euros price range on amazon. They are mostly medical, or art/paintings, or "Janes demining reference" :)
I am lost. Any advice?
