Yesterday when we were connecting in Zagreb airport I left my N9 cell phone at security control. I only discovered that it was missing during take off.
When we landed in Munich, my wife got a voice mail from a Croatian number. When she called back, it appeared it was Zagreb airport lost&found office. They found Yulias number in phone memory, called her and told they will send a mobile to Munich with next plane, and we can collect it in Munich airport 2nd terminal service center, items lost in plane cabin counter.
So we went there today and picked up the phone. The service was free! (Unlike Munich city lost&found). Those who found the N9 had to access phone book and last called numbers. After switching the phone on, they tried to guess a PIN twice but failed. Then they switched it on without cellular module, found the numbers and played with it a little, tried web browser, Angry Birds and other stuff :) Hope they liked it, and I am glad technically savvy people are working in Zagreb airport lost and found office.
I normally do not like comparing things with how these things work in Russia, but this time I will. I lost a GPS in an Aeroflot plane once, and my colleague left a laptop in S7 plane. No way to get anything back, let alone delivering lost item to another country.
