Туда, блин!
May. 27th, 2012 11:11 amDisclaimer: Anything I write below is just a dream I had today, nothing of it had actually happened :)
After arriving at a main railway station of Dublin yesterday, I decided to walk to the hotel I am staying via park of Dublin's art museum. (It is a shortest way, and two alternatives are not as nice: one is a narrow pathway on the edge of a highway and another goes through a poor suburb)
However, when I was approaching the hotel (actually, I was almost there short by 70 meters) a security guard pulled me over and told that I can't get through because he had just closed the gate. He suggested me to get out through main door, and then follow the garden's wall from outside to eventually reach the hotel.
I pretended to comply, and he drove away. Then I had about 1 minute to do the following: run 50 meters towards the gate. Climb the gate, holding my cabin sized trolley bag up and move it down from another side. Climb the gate again but only a little bit and get my camera bag and laptop bag outside. Climb over the gate myself.
In one minute, when myself and all my possessions were only 20 meters away from the hotel, a guard had arrived again:
- What are you doing??!!
- Sorry mate. That was way faster. Take care.
Here is a map:

Red cross marks a place where I was first stopped.
Big red circle - hotel
Small red circle - gates.
Red rectangle - police station.
Green path - 70 meters I had to walk to hotel.
Blue path - 1.2 kilometers way a guard suggested me to take.
The gate is very similar to a fence of a kindergarten we daily stormed when studied in primary school.
