Trip report: Nuernberg Messe
Nov. 26th, 2011 11:26 amThis week I went to IPC fair to meet with several customers. Alas, I did not have time to roam around the fair.
This is my fist time to IPC, and I liked it more than CeBIT. It is not really smaller and is definitely more interesting for me.

At CeBIT and other computer related fairs everything interesting happens on computer screens, and at IPC it is real devices all around: robotic arms, conveyors, factory machinery in operation, everything is moving and working.
One of the things I've learned recently is how big is the difference between embedded system with certified SIL2/SIL3 safety characteristics and without. I am also curious how German TÜV managed to become a main worldwide certification authority. I guess there should be similar US body but it seems like nobody cares.
P.S. Just did some shopping and found that they already sell Christmas trees everywhere, even in a grocery shop I went to! Seems a bit early for me..
