Machiavellian
Aug. 24th, 2011 09:54 amOffice politics - I recently heard a conversation, and if I understood it right (it was in German), it is a good example of a weird way of dealing with communication issues.
A guy had a recently appointed manager. His perception was that she is much into micro-managing him. To deal with it indirectly, he created and executed a plan...
He knew that a peer organization is looking for a new manager. He used his connections to get one of engineers, also female, promoted.
His thinking was that when two women become peers, they will be busy fighting with each other, so one who was his manager would not have time to micro-manage him.
It worked out.
