Performance improvement is never enough, even for consumer.

I normally work on performance improvement for server apps, and there is usually no such issue as "too fast hardware" in this business. For consumer, many ppl claim the opposite.

Though this claim might make sense, our IT is watching the problem closely... When I was given a SSD disk upgrade to my work laptop, I was very happy - it became noticeably faster. E.g. waking up from hibernation took about 2x less time. But our IT always does a great job - after installing mandatory disk encryption update, the same process takes 1.5x more time than it took before all upgrades :)
