Free range eggs from farmer's market taste considerably better then normal eggs from supermarket. Both as scrambled eggs and omelet. The reason I think is in psychology. Free range hen thinks that chances are a chicken will be born from the egg. Hen from an automated farm does not have any illusions. Even if it does, it does not wish it's baby to live in such a cruel world. So it lays an egg just to get rid of it. (Yes I know about fertile and non fertile eggs, but this is different)
