I never used obscene lexics in the blog, let alone the post titles, but this is exactly the case.
I needed to get FC6 or RHEL5 quickly (I have a license for the later but no install disk in vicinity). Last time I needed the latest distro (6 months ago), I just went to the city center and bought a disk for 4$. There were plenty of shops to choose from. Now I spent 2 hours trying to find a shop selling any decent Linux distro, and when I ended up on "Yunona" market (the one I've shown to my US co-workers as our underground DVD and warez bonanza), I could not find anything either! So I walked out desperately, but some strange person came and asked quietly:
- Looking for Warez?
- Yeah?
- What kind?
- Any decent Linux distro with glibc version 2.5.something?
- Sure! 40$
- %-[ Why?!
- WTO, police raids for software, can you explain'em the GPL?
- Sorry, I'll better d/l it.
- That's OK, take care.

So finally I've got an .iso file from a co-worker and burned it. Still, there are plenty of disks still worth 4$ in shops, but those are properly licensed nearly useless multimedia stuff.

Why did I use a strong language for the caption?
Because |Windows |Linux
Piracy |4$ |4$
No piracy |x00$ |4$
Pi#@%ts |x00$ |40$, sold by the same people who sell illegal databases.
