Trip report: Las Vegas CES
Recently got back from Las Vegas.
It is indeed very different from any other US city I've been to. Archeologists of 31st century will be very amused when they will excavate here.

I really liked the architecture, all buildings are very unique, even if they are copies of real or fictional attractions.
Gambling starts in the airport.

I am not fond of this kind of games, so just to try I placed one bet on roulette. I lost the bet and did not have any motivation to continue.
On the first day of CES, I've spent 40 minutes in a line to get a taxi from the airport. I suspect taxi driver managed to cheat. He took $25 for a ride from airport to hotel.

The hotel was very close, I can see it from an airport window. On the way back I've paid 12$
I did not have any time to really see local attractions. The main attraction was CES any way.

I was presenting in Nokia's private booth. This year Nokia did not present any new handsets on CES, so only those who had any interest in QT and Meego came in. That was a relief, it meant that I had to explain our story only ~20 times per day, and ppl I talked to were all experts.

Only on Sunday evening I had some time to swim in hotel's pool (lifeguards were surprised, there was nobody around likely because the air temperature was around 10C). I also seen the sunset over Las Vegas from the top of our hotel.

And spent some time in shopping moll.

A dozen of selected pics are in picasa album
