Freediving in Los Angeles
Weather forecast for yesterday was : +17C, Sunny, no wind. Water: +18C
Actual weather was : +17C, sunny, not windy. Feels like +20C. Water: +14C on the surface. A bit colder under 3 meters depth, and I did not dive further because of cold, and because I did not have weights to offset the buoyancy of a 3mm wetsuit.

We have seen only couple of entertaining things there. One was Garibaldi fish, plenty of them.

By plenty I do not mean they swim in flocks, but they are not difficult to find. Also they were not very afraid of me, when I dived to chase them to make a better picture they swam away reluctantly. They are curious, too.
Another thing was kelp, plenty of it. It starts growing from a small seed

and then forms massive forests

Before I only dived in warm waters, so I did not know seaweed could be spectacular.
Urchins were plentiful on a shallow part of a reef and were all violet

Only dead urchins and snails were in different colors, often iridescent.

There were seals around but I have not seen any. The biggest animal in the ocean close to me was my buddy V.

Thanks a lot V for being a very good buddy.
